The Ashfield Partnership updates on the Mountbatten Park site:
- The informal consultation exercise at the end of August was very well attended
- Several good recommendations emerged for Combined Operations Wood
- We are accordingly now adjusting the design of recreation facilities in that location
- Cllr Alan Dowden has established an efficient working relationship with HCC
- We are indebted since this has helped to recover our build programme on site
- In contrast SSE’s programme to bury the high KV cable has slipped by a month
- That work however should be completed by the 18th of November
- So that our forestry contractor can fell the trees that were close to the line in the New Year*
- We decided to trim the verges and hedges along Hoe Lane to improve visibility
- Drivers should take great care given that this is the only route for delivery lorries
*Update: The very cold weather has provided perfect ground conditions so the felling of the remaining trees beside the old overhead electricity line have now been felled.
